You can’t trust someone called Dinty with your food. Dinty Moore is the name of a Nascar driver, not a chef. And the residual anger from childhood beatings brought on by this unfortunate name should make anyone weary of this stewmaster. Just take a look above. Dinty claims it is made with “fresh” potatoes and carrots. OK, Great. What about the beef? When was that made?

Plus, Preservative FREE (so free that it needed to be in all capitals) is not a good thing when it comes to canned goods. An alternative and more fitting description would be More RANCID. Or, Still ROTTING.
But when I was peeling sticky coins off the floor of my car, pondering my next meal under those depressing Stop and Shop lot lights last week, I knew it was going to be a Dinty night. After all, it does contain many of the crucial nutrients that are keeping prisoners alive all throughout the Middle East. And, it’s from the quality people at Hormel who brought us the culinary classics Spam and Stagg Chili. Sure, it may look like dog food and it might smell like dog food, but at least on the bright side, it tastes like shit.
